Hi everyone, has anyone been on this pain killer? I had never heard of it, (think spelling is correct?) my consultant thinks that after being on tramadol and paracetemol since July 2009 that I need to find a drug that works. I should have asked him loads of questions, but as usual felt rushed, and he was asking me more questions than I had a chance to ask him!! he was interested in how I fractured my ankle etc and said that taking the calcichew was supposed to help prevent this. So, basically, are these ok? re side effects, what can I take with them, if anything other than prescribed meds. My GP has to write the script for me as apparently they don't carry them in the pharmacy of the hospital (!!??) he also thinks that the mtx is working well for me, and that alot of the pain is from fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. Thanks for reading this, and hope you are doing ok and not hurting too much, x xSmile

Sorry Barbie - not heard of that one, but hope it does the trick. Would the pharmacist have some info for you?

Hi Barbie

Good to see you posting, hope things aren't too bad at the moment, although I gather things can't be too good otherwise you wouldn't be getting alternative pain relief!!

I haven't come across Nefopam before but there is a lot of information on the internet about its uses, side effects etc. You should be able to gather the information you need but the tablets should come with a patient leaflet.

Hope you find them helpful and they give you some relief from the pain.

Thank you Kathleen and Lyn, it must be that nefopam isnt a common choice then. Well have to get the script to GP first, that's hubby's job, as its a long walk and my foot wont take it. Then wait another 2-3 days for them to write their own script and get it to B***s to collect. Will let you all know if they aare of any use. Take care xSmile

Hi Barbara,

I have not heard of this one either, having said that I do hope it works well for you.

Keep strong and rest that ankle.
